Michael J. Wenk, PhD (he/him)
Co-Founder & Principal

For over 25 years, Mike has facilitated reform work in education that has impacted schools across the state. During his career,  Mike coordinated the development of a high school summer academy,  facilitated K-12 vertical teams, collaborated with teachers to  develop a district-wide curriculum,  promoted school-based literacy efforts led by teams of teachers, and facilitated a team of teachers and students to make reading and writing assignments more inclusive of LGBTQ issues and identities. Mike believes the best reforms are done with  stakeholders, not to them.

Among the organizations Mike has served are the Second Wind Fund, the Whittier Neighborhood Association, and the Colorado Language Arts Society, as well as the State of Colorado Reading, Writing, and Communicating Content Standards Team and the Green Mountain Accountability Committee.  He has promoted a number of cross-age tutoring and mentoring initiatives during his teaching career, and  has been recognized by colleagues and students for his commitment to  teaching and learning.
